99 Balloons

Check out this beautiful video about a little boy born with a syndrome called Trisomy 18. His parents recorded his short 99 days on earth and it is such a sweet video. Get your kleenex out because it will make you cry!

We're BAAAACK!!!

Ok, so I know it's been awhile. I've uploaded a ton of pictures to sort of fill you in on our lives over the past 10 months. It's hard to believe that it's almost been a year since we got married. How time flies!!

Here's me in our first garden ever. I'd say it was a success!!

The back of our house...

The BIGGEST cucumber EVER!!! It's hard to tell it's actual size, but easlily elbow to fingertip.

A pumpkin

Our patio and lovely firepit Scott made for us. I think we only used it a few times. Oh well..there's always next year!

My new favorite website

I came across this website via a friend of a friend's blog. This website offers me daily amusement and I can't get enough of it!! Check it out for yourself! http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com/

Giving our dogs face time

These are some pics of the dogs we have taken over the past few months....

This is my favorite picture of them!! Senior picture pose!! :)

Precious wrapped up in her blanket

Emerging from the blanket

Sydney with sleepy eyes

Sleeping the day away!

Not happy I'm taking her picture!

If you look closely, you'll see Precious rolled up in the blanket like a sausage. This is her typical position of choice on their bed. She somehow manages to crawl under the blanket and wrap herself up. You can see her head peeking out to the left of the bed.

Happy Sydney...always happy.

Remodeled Spare Bedroom

We have one spare bedroom that still had not been "re-done" since I moved in. I think that every room in the house has officially been given a woman's touch if you will. :) Our spare bedroom had become a catch-all of all our "stuff" that didn't have a good storage place yet. Plus the wall color didn't match the bedspread I had in there. The solution, buy a new bedding set and paint the walls and whah-lah, you have a new bedroom! Our good friends Andrew and Makenna came to visit and were the first to break it in. I can now look in there and not feel overwhelmed at our piles of "stuff".

Lake Geneva

Some relatives of Scott had their 50th Wedding Anniversary up in Lake Geneva last month so Scott and I went up the night before and stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. It was the perfect location...right on the lake and walking distance from downtown. The room was a bit comical though. I know B&Bs are supposed to be old and kind of "country-ish" in decor, but this place outdid itself! An older man ran the place and you could tell! The pillows were about 80 years old and the "Breakfast" aspect of the B&B was laughable. He served croissants (out of a can) with a piece of ham lunch meat rolled up in the middle of it and then warmed it up. It was gross. Even I could have made a better breakfast. Oh well....there could be worse things (like the bathroom in our room!

We walked along the path that goes all the way around the lake before we got settled into our room.

This is the most beautiful house on the lake. The woman who owns this is a single mom of 7 kids and used to wait tables to pay the rent. Then she somehow purchased a trucking company and is now a millionaire. She has a beautiful backyard with sayings on the railing.

The room kind of looked like a bottle of Pepto Bismol exploded everywhere.
The "Rose Room"
The bathroom sink was no bigger than an airline bathroom sink. This picture just doesn't do justice. You could barely fit one person in here and close the door.
Uhh, where's the counter?
I could hardly even wash my hands in the sink it was so small. Too funny!
All in all, it was a great trip. Lake Geneva will always hold a special place in our hearts since we got engaged there. We had beautiful weather and got to take a sunset boat tour of the lake for the anniversary party.

I'm still trying to figure out this Blog thing....everything is backwards. See my post below!

More images from our garden...

Purple Peppers!

We had TONS of cherry tomatoes! They were delicious!

Green Peppers. We were able to freeze BAGS and BAGS of peppers to use throughout the winter. Yum!

Our pumpkin. We set this out on our front step for Halloween and a little chipmunk made his home in here. So much for roasting pumpkin seeds!
