Back to the old days

Scott and I decided to get bikes so that we could spend more time outside this summer! I picked out a bright pink Schwinn and Scott got the same model in the men's version! It brought back memories of my beloved pink 10 speed.

We ended up going on a 13 mile ride last night and needless to say, my behind is quite sore this morning! :)

Friends

Scott and I were able to meet up with his friends Phil and Kim for dinner this weekend. It was my first time meeting both of them. We had a great meal at a steakhouse. We didn't leave feeling one bit hungry!!!

After dinner we (foolishly) ordered the Triple Layer Chocolate Ganache cake! Check out how HUGE this thing is! Between 3 of us, we didn't even eat half of it. It was really good though! :)

Not Sure What I'm Doing!!

Hey this is Me, Scott, now talking, writing, rambling, whatever you want to call this. So here is my story about meeting Melanie. This title that I decided to use will sound very familar to Mel, cause she was playing like she didn't know what she was doing when she sent me this first email. All along I knew she did know (She's that kind of girl), but I thought I would go along with it and see what would happen. Well I am the type of guy who likes to simplify things and be direct and to the point. SO, I went with it, fell totally in love with her, enjoy spending all my free time with her, think about her lots (ok almost all the time), she kind of just walked into my heart and said I'm here and you are going to like it. I might give a longer version of this sometime, but like I said, I like to simplify things and if you ask Mel, a terrible story teller. She has to re-tell my stories if I have already said it once. Basically I'm in love with the most amazing woman and I am so thankful that somehow God allowed our paths to cross, He of course knew better than we both did. I wanted to say "THE END" just now, but its really just the beginning of something so beautiful!!!

Staying in Chicago!!

The last few months have been extremly busy for me and lots of changes have happened! I went from planning on going to grad school in Arkansas to meeting an amazing man and deciding to stay in Chicago!! God has a really funny sense of humor sometimes! I was going along with my life, perfectly content being single and enjoying all that the single life had to offer and when I was least expecting it, I met someone who completely swept me off my feet.

Scott and I met on a blind date a few months ago and as they say, the rest is history!

This blog is for family and friends of both Scott and I to keep up on what's going on in each of our lives. I know that it's hard to keep in touch regularly so this is a way for you to check in every once in awhile to see what's going on!

Please leave us a comment!!

Scott's Birthday Surprise

On our way back from Iowa City, I suprised Scott by taking him to the world's largest truckstop on I-90 and then going to Starved Rock State Park for the afternoon. It was about 80 degrees when we were at the state park, and by the time we drove back to Chicago, it had dropped to about 45 degrees!
I was recently in a wedding of a close college friend of mine. My parents were able to meet Scott for the first time. He passed the test by going to grab a bite to eat with them (without me!) just 10 minutes after meeting them. He's a real trooper!

Makenna and Andrew-the happy couple! Nice tie Andrew!

Scenes of Chicago

For Scott's Birthday, we took the El downtown (he's a pro now!) to Buckingham Fountain which is the largest illuminated fountain in the world! Then we went over to a fantastic mexican restaurant. Yum!
